Sedation Dentistry

Sedations aren’t always necessary but are great for those who have to deal with dental anxiety.

You won’t even be aware that you’ve entered a dental office when you come by Grella DDS. We understand that many people experience significant discomfort when visiting the dentist, and it is our goal to alleviate any unnecessary worry you may have about seeing the dentist. We offer a wide variety of sedative methods, such as tablets, IVs, and nitrous oxide. We find the solution together that suits your needs best.

Conscious sedation gives our patients a reliable route to minimizing their dental anxiety, memory of the event, and perception of time passing

3 Types of Sedation

  • Oral
  • IV
  • Nitrous Oxide

Misconceptions about the Effects of Sedation

A common misconception is that IV sedation is unsafe. IV sedation in dentistry was first offered to alleviate patients’ fears of the dentist. Heart attacks and other cardiac problems can be triggered by fear, nervousness, and anxiety. When you’re sedated through an IV, you’re able to have medical procedures performed in a lot less stressful situations because you’re so relaxed and won’t react negatively to anything.

Although, IV sedation isn’t reserved for people with health problems.

First, we’ll have a chat to learn more about you, your concerns, and your health background. This will help us provide you with the best possible dental care in a safe and predictable manner, as well as provide us with a better idea of what would be the best treatment options to best fill your visit.
